Papa Wheely  Aka: 'Jax'

Ever since I started riding when I was little, I have wanted my own horse. I was searching the computer one day and came across the Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program. I clicked on it and came across this one horse, I couldn't stop looking at him, he had to be mine! Every website I looked at he popped up, so one day I thought of this bright idea. Instead of begging like always, I printed off his picture, price and information and hung it on the fridge.

After a couple weeks in October we went to the Purple Haze Center to look at horses, there he was "PAPA WHEELY". I walked right over to him and instantly fell in love. When we got home I looked at my parents and said " I need him, Please!" So we filled out the papers and sent them in, and got approved a couple weeks later. Then one day I got picked up from school and me, my parents, and my riding instructor all went up so I could try him and one other horse. Papa Wheely was amazing! My instructor left and told me the choice was mine. I told Kerri and my mom I had chosen Papa Wheely. They went into the little office, and I'm not sure what happened in there because all I could do was stand in the stall with my horse. I hugged his neck, I couldn't believe it was happening. When we got into the car I just cried, I was so happy my dream had come true. The staff were wonderful with the many questions that we had.

About a week later, November 1st 2008, there he was in the stall at Jensen stables. I stayed there the whole day brushing him, and turning him out. I just stood there and wathced my horse happily run. I soon renamed him "Jack of All Trades" and called him Jax. He is the most wonderful thing that had ever happened to me. He is so gentle and loving. Jax and I train with my instructor twice a week, and he has come along so well. I strongly recommend the Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program, I am so happy with Jax. This is truly a success for both of us, I had my dream come true and he has a home that loves and spoils him. I can't wait for the years to come!
