There was nothing wrong with him; he just wasn’t performing and no one wanted him. I immediately was inundated with emails due to his size- a full 17h. Tera got in touch with me via email on day and by that afternoon had not only paypaled the full amount for him, but had provided me with all the pre qualification documents. Her references checked out spectacularly and within a week, she came to pick him up. One month later Tera was riding “Fid” now renamed “Gabe” on trail rides – on the road. She adores him and its clear- he adores her too. I would nominate Tera Root and Fiddlers Veteran aka Gabe as the adopted horse of the year@! We have been bonding...working on lunging, ground work, gentle rides...we successfully completed our first solo trail ride on Saturday!!! He is so wonderful!!! I can't tell you how impressed and happy I am with my young man!!!! He does not have a mean bone n he is so gentle!!!! He is so smart!!!! I will be paypaling my donation this friday!!!! Thx again for this fantastic boy!!!!!; Tera would like to give Heritage Acres Rescue a positive reference. I saw 'Fiddlers Veteran' aka 'Gabe" on line early on a saturday morning, in december. I emailed Shelly, and almost immediately, she emailed me back. Upon communication throughout that day, I knew I had gone to the 'right' place to look @/adopt an OTTB. Not only was Shelly more than forthgiving with Gabes history, but she was more inquisitive into my history and references to ensure the utmost care/investigation was done to look out for this horse. It was her genuine concern for these animals that confirmed my 'gut' feeling that I could trust the information I was getting from her, respresenting Heritage Acres. Not only did I adopt a horse, unseen, but I made a pledge to Heritage Acres because true, honest horse people deserve help for these awesome animals. The OTTB I adopted is respectful, mild mannered, and progressing far beyond all expectations I would ever have for this young colt(4yrs. old on Feb. 21st!). I credit Shelly at Heritage Acres for this. Shelly had obviously invested time and imprinted respectand love into this animal, in the short time he was there. To see an OTTB out on trail, with no issues, less than two months of the track, is respresentation enough of the aftercare he has recieved from Shelly! My gentle giant (17h!) is awesome, 'HOME RUN!", due to Heritage Acres! Thank you so much! I am more than willing to talk to anyone, if it is ever needed!!! Once again, because I can't say it enough, THANK YOU!!!
