Courageous Comet

Courageous Comet (photo by Pete Landon, shown at the top of this page on the left), was purchased by Charity and Aaron Donnan in a Claiming Race at Finger Lakes and was later sold to Becky and Tom Holder. Becky and Courageous Comet delight eventing fans with breathtaking dressage work and fabulous form over fences. They represented the United States at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. They were 2nd at Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event in 2008 and 3rd in 2010. This fall Courageous Comet and Becky were selected to represent the United States in the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. After a dazzling dressage test and wonderful cross-country go, they were in third place in the individual competition. Unfortunately, Courageous Comet pulled a shoe during the cross-country and, as a result, was sore enough that Becky withdrew him from the competition after he was held in the trot-up. It is a testamony to his courage that he galloped and jumped the way he did without a shoe!
